Ph.D Programme

The international network projects, industrial partnerships, and wide scope of research interests at Center for Industrial Production (CIP) provide a rich and stimulating environment for students wishing to continue their education beyond the master's level.

Compatibility of research interests and experiences forms the basis for selection of two senior advisors for each doctoral student. From this point onwards, the students are actively involved in every aspect of their projects: from the preliminary research and project design, to participation in discussions and arrangements with the host organization, to conducting the research, collecting the data, and summarizing the results in the form of their final thesis. Students are also encouraged to publish and present their research findings in professional publications and international conferences. [PhD students at CIP]

Students may select required and elective courses from a number of departments within the university as well as those arranged and hosted by CIP. In just this past six months, the Ph.D. researchers have participated in courses on action research, business practice development, competence development, and supply chain management, to name just a few. In addition, all CIP researchers meet approximately once each month to discuss the "current state" of their projects and papers and open the floor for suggestions, feedback and collaboration.

As with all doctoral students at AAU, the Ph.D. researchers at CIP are encouraged to participate in research outside of Denmark, and especially in partner EU countries, for a period of at least three months.
